ECM
The extracellular matrix (ECM) is a customized collection of collagens, glycoproteins, and proteoglycans, that regulates the extracellular microenvironment and functions of each tissue type. We work on 1) the ECM-rich cornea of the eye and corneal diseases like keratoconus, and 2) how specific ECM proteins interact with immune cells and regulate host immunity.
