PhDPostdoctoral Fellow 2016-present
Dr. Shinde received his PhD in 2015 from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. During his PhD, he investigated the role of calcium dysregulation in the pathophysiology of Retinitis Pigmentosa associated with the expression of misfolded rhodopsin proteins. He is deeply interested in vision sciences, corneal dystrophies and cellular signaling in ocular diseases. He is currently investigating candidate genes and signaling pathways in the pathophysiology of Keratoconus using cell biology, pharmacology and genetic tools.
